A shift in thinking

Reported in March Workforce Management magazine: A growing number of large companies like Whirlpool, BMW, Fidelity, HP, Hyatt and Kellogg have started using web-based hiring systems to focus on managing internal job postings and candidates as well as external - something not yet widely adopted. Emoonlighter Announces Name Change to Guru.com

3/09/04 Pittsburgh, PA - Emoonlighter, the world's largest online marketplace for freelance talent, announced that it has changed its name to Guru.com. Peoplesoft Partnership

3/8/04 Resourcing Software is pleased to announce that it has joined the Peoplesoft, Inc. Software Partnership Program. Associated with the announcement, Resourcing Software is building an interface between its product web-cruit and Peoplesoft's e-Recruit.

Resourcing Software is a vendor of Internet based recruitment software that is complementary to the PeopleSoft e-Recruit offering and provides additional functionality required by most organizations that are looking to implement an Internet based recruitment strategy.   • By 2005, expenditure on Internet-based recruiting will be $7 billion (Forrester Research)
  • 96% of all companies will use the Internet for their recruitment needs (Forrester Research)
  • In the U.S., companies claim up to 30% of new hires come from the Internet, while 77% of Internet users looking for work use the Net as their primary means to do so.
  • A recent survey conducted by Employment Management Association, U.S.A, showed the cost-per-hire of print ads was estimated at $3295 versus online ads, at a mere $377.
