Reported 12/12/2003: 47% of executive recruiting firms surveyed by ExecuNet planned to hire additional professional staff in the next three months. More consolidation

Manpower To Acquire Right Management Consultants

Manpower/(NYSE:MAN), the world's second largest employment company, announced yesterday it has entered into an agreement to acquire Right Management Consultants/(NYSE:RHT), a global career transition and organizational consulting company with over 300 service locations. The acquisition of Right Management's outplacement service compliments Manpower's existing range of services, which include screening, training and staffing. The Empower Group, Manpower's organizational consulting business, will be merged into Right Management after the acquisition is completed. (www.manpower.com)

Shift in job types

Columbus, OH - In a recent study, Federal Reserve Bank of New York reported that most of the 2.7 million jobs lost since 2001 have been eliminated positions. By 2015, a predicted 3.3 million U.S. jobs will be transferred overseas, according to Forrester Research, Inc. What remains are companies who want to focus on fast moving products and services, with downsized staffing. However, turnover among hourly workers including cashiers, wait staff and call center representatives ranges from an estimated 100 to 200 percent.
