Overview of System Set-Up
- Please provide
a brief outline of the actions required to configure/set up your system
for use. Include a description of the processes you typically use to
establish the job relevance of your assessment tools.
- We require a local
validation study to configure our product for use. This typically involves
a detailed job analysis that can be run via our JOB ANALYZER product.
We also require all hiring personnel who will be using the system to
attend focus groups designed to help us understand the information
they will need to make sound hiring decisions. We then configure a
customized reporting tool to help us ensure we are providing the information
needed to ensure effective hiring decisions.
- How do you help
customers decide which screening/assessment tools are appropriate
for their needs?
- We have Ph.D.
level consultants who meet with the client to identify needs and
desired outcomes. The result of this process is the creation of
an optimized system that maps directly onto critical outcomes.
- Does the configuration
of your products/services require consulting services? If so, how many
days of consulting are typically required to implement your solutions?
Is the consulting typical done by your company or through a third party
partner?
- Our model does
require consulting services. We feel this is the only way to accurately
gauge our clients' needs and to ensure that we deploy a set of solutions
that will be effective in addressing these needs. We realize that this
may be time consuming but we have seen first hand how the additional
value created via optimization ultimately delivers better outcomes
for our clients.
- How long does it
typically take to get your assessment solutions "up and
running"? Is there a minimum amount of time needed to get
your assessment systems in place?
- This depends totally
on the situation. We have implemnted systems in as little time as 2
weeks but have also spent up to 4 months in the "set up" phase.
- Please describe
any training services you provide to your customers in order to help
them learn to use your tools/system.
- We offer a full
slate of training services including "train the trainer." Training
on our system is a required part of each implementation.

2. Validation

Overall Philosophy
This vendor's overall approach to validating their products:
"We
feel very strongly that each implementation of our product
must be backed with a criterion related validation study.
However, we also work hard to ensure all of our assessment
tools are content valid (via a job analysis) and face
valid."
Validation Methods Employed
- Content Validation
- Use systematic job analysis techniques to demonstrate that performance
of the job is theoretically related to candidate characteristics measured
by the assessment.
- Concurrent Validation
- Administer assessments to a cross section of current employees
who are performing at various levels. Correlate employees scores on
the assessment with measures or supervisory ratings of job performance
to determine the empirical relationship between assessment scores
and job performance.
- Predictive Validation
- Administer assessment to current employees or applicants and then
correlate their assessment scores with measures of job performance or
tenure collected several months later in order to demonstrate an empirical
relationship between assessment scores and longer term job performance.
- Streaming Validation
- Collect assessment scores and performance or tenure data from employees
on an ongoing basis and use it to analyze assessment related data in
an ongoing, continuous manner.
- Validity Generalization/Transportation of Validity
- Refers to the degree to which an assessment designed for one job can
be shown to be relevant for another job. Transportability is typically
based on a combination of Content Validation and Meta-Analytic evidence.
- Norming
- Compare candidate scores on assessments against normative assessment
data collected from other candidate or employees.

provide a detailed technical report that summarizes our
validation study. Our platform also has an integrated application
that provides real time ROI updates to demonstrate the
impact of the selection system on valued outcomes. This system offers
a variety of on the fly reporting features.

do you document validation evidence for your customers?
- We provide documentation
via technical reports. These reports are updated on a yearly
basis using data from our platform.
