While our background comes from the field of Industrial/Organizational
Psychology, our interest in technology sets us apart from others
who share our roots. We understand that technology is changing
the entire hiring paradigm and it is our mission to help ensure
that properly deployed screening and assessment tools become an
integral part of these changes. To this end we have worked with
job boards, ATS vendors, and assessment vendors to help them incorporate
screening and assessment into their vision for the future. We firmly
believe that this direction represents a tremendous source of value
for all parties involved in the hiring process, including the job
seeker.
Rocket-Hire is also the only source of expert, objective information
about the online screening and assessment marketplace. We are not
affiliated with any vendors so we are able to focus on helping
our clients find the best tool for their needs, instead of the
tool that will give us the biggest kick-back.
Our philosophy is that there is no one best screening/assessment
vendor, rather vendor selection should be driven by match between
the needs of the customer and the products and services of the
vendor. Our work is also guided by the idea that our services are
a profit center rather than a cost center. We work with our clients
to help them build a solid business case for the strategic use
of technology related staffing tools.
Rocket-Hire’s founder, Dr. Charles Handler has had a tremendous
amount of experience in the creation, deployment and validation
of all types of employee selection systems for a wide variety of
organizations in almost every sector of the economy.
Dr. Charles Handler, PHR is the president and founder of Rocket-Hire
a consultancy dedicated to helping organizations use technology
and best practices to build effective, legally sound employee selection
systems. Before founding Rocket-Hire, Dr. Handler spent almost
a decade developing and validating employee selection systems for
a wide variety of jobs in a number of settings including, retail,
manufacturing, telecommunications, high-tech, and public safety.
Dr. Handler is an internationally known thought leader in the development
of online screening and assessment technology. Since starting Rocket-Hire,
he has specialized in partnering with customers to develop strategies
to help increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the employee
selection process. In addition to Internet based hiring practices,
Dr. Handler has also conducted extensive survey work and created
training/development and performance management systems for a variety
of companies. Dr. Handler actively writes and speaks about online
assessment and other strategic HR issues. Dr. Handler is the author
of the “Rocket-Hire Buyer’s Guide to Web Based Screening
and Staffing Assessment Systems” and is a regular contributor
to Workforce Magazine, and SHRM’s Employment Management Association
Employment Management Today Magazine. Dr. Handler is also a regular
columnist for the Electronic Recruiting Exchange’s daily
online newsletter.
